Message from
President Gary
Hi all,
I am looking forward to our first member meeting on Wednesday, April 8, at 1 p.m. on Zoom. Many members of our Club have been working hard to continue with our many programs and services offered by our Club, and I am very pleased with how much our Club continues to accomplish under these difficult circumstances.
I know that having our meeting over the internet, on Zoom, is not the ideal way of meeting for of our Club, but it will allow us to continue to see and talk to each other about many activities and services that our Englewood Club does for the community.
Even though Zoom may be awkward for many of our members (it has been for me), at least we can continue to communicate about current activities and the future of our Club. In the near future, I am hoping that we will be able to bring in some speakers who are interesting and are used to this medium, but we still need to explore how this will work and meet the expectations of our Club, before proceeding.
Also, like you, I am hoping to “get back to normal,” in a few more weeks, but with the closure of the Meridian for these types of meetings, we will have to identify a meeting place for at least the near future. Fortunately, Dawn and others are working on this objective, and we will discuss these options in the near future.
I hope you will join us on Wednesday to hear from our Board of Directors about the many activities that the Club is involved in, and to help us plan for our meetings and activities in the next few months. If you do have any questions about the Club, please feel free to contact me or Susan or Linda, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Take care and be safe,
Gary Sears
