Deadline Day is Aug. 6. Sell those peaches! And please consider a contribution to the Englewood Rotary Foundation, if you can't participate in the peach fund-raiser. Good deeds cost money.
Delivery and Distribution (lots of D-Days) will be Saturday, Aug. 14, at Englewood Civic Center. It's scheduled 10 to 1, but we'll probably need volunteers earlier, as well.
Bob and I won't be with you this week. We're spending a few days at our favorite cabin community in Estes Park. With the dog.
Susan will be running the meeting for us. We are expecting a prospective new member, Shawn McMillin, who appreciates Rotary because he has a friend in Wyoming who always takes him to Rotary meetings and events.
Our speaker is Doug Cohn of the Englewood Historic Preservation Society. Doug has spoken to us several times before, and he always brings amazing and quirky stories from our city's history.
Note that on our calendar, we have Dinners for Six. Vee and John Sabel will host one, and the Spears will host another, both on Saturday, Aug. 28. Bob and I will host on Sunday, Aug. 29. Rather than a frenzied sign-up at the meeting, please email me your preferences, and I'll try to work things out. paburnett@aol.com If we need to schedule more, we can figure that out. I always say, Englewood Rotary socializes well!
